NEW DESSERTS!

TODAY I AM ADDING NOT ONE BUT TWO NEW DESSERTS TO MY RECIPE BLOG. TODAY MUST BE THE DAY FOR VISITING TEACHING AND CHOCOLATE. I HAD PLANNED TO TAKE MY CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD WITH ME WHEN I WENT TEACHING THIS AFTERNOON, AND TO MY SURPRISE, MY VISITING TEACHING BROUGHT ME THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHERRY BARS AND I JUST HAVE TO SHARE THIS RECIPE, BECAUSE IT IS SO GOOD AND EASY AND ISN'T THAT WHAT WE ALL WANT IN LIFE?

BANANA BREAD

I cant believe that I went all weekend without even cooking something that could be added to my recipe blog.  So tonight I am going to make chocolate banana bread, sounds yummy.  I am going to take it to my ladies that I visit teach, that way I will be able to get a little taste, but wont be faced with the temptation of a whole loaf taunting me to eat it.  I hope it is as good as it looks, we will see if it shows up on my blog.  I found it on a great recipe site.

SPENDING TIME WITH BEN AND MICHELLE

We had such a fun  week last week.  Ben and Michelle came up and spent several days with us while they are in their transition phase.  They have moved out of their apartment in Logan and are waiting to go back to the Uintahs to work for the summer and had no place to stay.  How excited I was to have them here with us.  I always love it when my kids come home, it is so much fun and we all just love being together.  Ben and Jeff spent several nights in the garage working on the ongoing rock crawler transformation, 4 or 5 years  in the works, I think,  I'm not sure anymore. I do know however, that it is continually morphing into something "bigger" and better.  Michelle and I enjoyed being together and we actually each had a book that we wanted to read and because neither one of us get the time to read like we want we spent time reading and relaxing, which felt really good.  Jessica did Michelles toenails and we had a girl night, eating movie candy and watching Where the Wild Things Are.  Oh, Lexie also joined us, I think more for the candy than the movie!  And as far as the movie goes, this might have been a childrens book, but it was not a childrens movie and will not be going in my grandma movie library.  I really don't know how to describe this movie only that it was basically a childrens book made into a movie for adults.  It was not what I was expecting at all. Ben and Michelle were so great to help out with some yard work, and put in our bark in the front yard and it looks great.  Thanks Kids!  I know that it would be nice living closer to my kids, but I realize that when we get together for these short periods of time, it is quality time and we make the most of every minute together.

I love, love, love it when the kids come up.

I guess I dont retain things like I used to because I read my last book twice and I am listening to these CD's for the second time as well.  It seems like every time I turn my car on there is something that makes me stop and think about how I can apply what is being said to be a little better every day.

I HAVE REACHED THE AGE OF "OLD"

This week I decided that "I have finally reached the age of OLD",  starting with my visit to the salon.  I went to the salon to have those pesky gray roots that keep showing up in my hair covered up when what to my and my stylist eyes did appear not nice brown roots, but ORANGE ones.   My old gray roots were so stubborn that they didn't take  the color and we had to do the roots all over again.  Next I had my visit to the eye doctor and came home with not one new pair of glasses, but two.  That brings the total number of glasses that I now have to 4!  My bi-foculs, My sunglasses, My reader sunglasses and now Computer glasses to use at work.  Oh, and did I  also mention I  have dry eyes and now have to use drops every day? Finally on friday morning I went for what I thought would be a great heart pumping walk with my friend Glenda.  This was the first time we have walked together and so I told her to just walk at her normal pace and I would just follow along.  Let's just say she lives on a hill and the further up you go the steeper it gets.  Saturday morning my gluteous maximus was so sore I could hardly walk, Jessica said I walked like I was saddle sore. :(
I think that says it all, it was a week that made me feel old, but rest assured I am going back up on that hill this week and will be walking it again and again till I dont feel old!

I DID IT!

AS YOU CAN SEE MY MOTHERS DAY POST HAS A COLLAGE ON IT.  I MANAGED TO FIGURE THIS OUT WITH ONLY ONE PHONE CALL TO MARCI.  NOW I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PRINT BUTTON FOR MY RECIPES.  ITS THERE, IT JUST DOESNT WORK.  OH WELL, I GUESS I JUST HAVE TO KEEP TRYING :)

A DAY OFF "SORT OF"

Today I am spending the day at home.  I am actually still working, answering the phones and making appointment, etc., but I am at home.  The beauty of modern technology, the Dr can be out of the office and I can work from home, you have to love it.  I have designated today a computer day because there are so many things that I am learning how to do.  I have a tutorial that I want to watch and I have learned a few new add -ons this morning from my neighbor Marci so I have been playing with  my blog now for about the last hour.  I just looked at the clock and my day is slipping away before my eyes and I realize that I probably wont get as much done as I really wanted to.  That is the downfall of working from home,  get sidetracked with laundry and other household chores.  I am going to try the picaso program and learn how to make collages for my pictures on my posts, it looks way cute and is a lot easier than trying to fit in more than one picture per post.  If  I figure it out you will know because I will change the pictures on my mothers day blog to a collage.  We will see what happens!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!

 MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND WAS SUCH A JOY.  IT WAS SO MUCH FUN TO HAVE THE KIDS HERE.  SUNDAY MORNING WHEN  BRANDON BROUGHT HAILEY UPSTAIRS SO THEY COULD SLEEP IN, JESSICA CAME UP AND WANTED TO SPEND THE MORNING HOLDING HER AND PLAYING AUNTIE JESS, IT WAS SO CUTE TO WATCH.  JEFF MADE ME DINNER, WE HAD  DUTCH OVEN CHICKEN AND POTATOES, ALWAYS A GOOD CHOICE.  I MADE A FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE AND IT WAS OH SO GOOD. 

DUE TO A LITTLE GOOD LUCK ON MY PART, BUT NOT ON BRANDONS PART, DAYNA AND HAILEY GET TO STAY ONE MORE NIGHT.  BRANDON WENT HOME WITH A FRIEND BECAUSE THEIR  CAR HAD TO GO TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP

TO BE SERVICED AND DAYNA WILL DRIVE IT HOME WHEN IT IS DONE.  WE TOOK HAILEY ON A WALK IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND GRANDPA GOT TO PUSH.  HE LOVES HIS LITTLE SWEETIE.  SO NICE WE GET TO SPEND ONE MORE DAY WITH THE GIRLS, ITS JUST TO BAD THAT I HAVE TO WORK ALL DAY MONDAY.

                                                                                                                                                                                                          

ROCKING AWAY

I am writing this blog while sweet Hailey is rocking away in her swing and Brandon and Dayna are sleeping in.  I am hoping to get a lot of grandma time this weekend, I think that I will kick Brandon and Dayna out, except for feeding time, they will get a break and I will get Hailey,I think thats a good plan don't you? :)  As usual because I have family here I am going to be doing some cooking.  Right now I have Harvey's Bran bread in the oven, it is Oh So good and Grandpa Clix really likes it so I made it for him.  I am not sure what else is going to get cooked up this weeked, but rest assured I will be putting the recipes on my recipe blog.  I hear Hailey stirring, so I think I need to check on her :)

MY SOMEDAY CRAFTS

FOR SOME REASON THIS BLOGGING STUFF HAS UNLEASED MY CREATIVE JUICES AND ALL I WANT TO DO IS SOMETHING!  I HAVE BEEN LEARNING A NEW PROGRAM CALLED ACDSEE TO ORGANIZE THE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING  THINGS THAT I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING AS WELL AS ALL MY PHOTOS SO THAT IT WILL BE EASIER FOR ME TO FIND THINGS.  THIS NEW BLOG WORLD HAS OPENED AVENUES THAT I WAS NOT AWARE OF AND NOW I WANT TO CRAFT; PILLOWS YESTERDAY AND NECKLACES TODAY, WHAT TO DO?  SEE HOW TO MAKE THIS CUTE NECKLACE CLICK HERE. GIRLS WEEKEND

WE JUST HAD OUR SECOND ANNUAL GIRLS WEEKEND FOR THE JONES FAMILY GIRLS.  THIS IS A WEEKEND WHERE WE GET TOGETHER AND CRAFT, VISIT, EAT AND GENERALLY HAVE A GREAT TIME.  THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF SOME UNAVOIDABLE CIRCUMSTANCES OUR WEEKEND ONLY CONSISTED OF FRIDAY 3PM TO MIDNIGHT.  WE HAD A GREAT TIME AS USUAL AND WE CELEBRATED MOMS 89TH BIRTHDAY AND ALSO HAD A BABY SHOWER FOR MITZI AND THE NEXT GREAT GRANDCHILD FOR GRANDMA JONES.  I AM ALWAYS AMAZED AT THE CRAFTINESS OF THE GIRLS IN OUR FAMILY,OR NICKER NACKERS AS WYNN WOULD CALL US.  WE HAVE  MANY QUILTERS, SCRAPPERS, (DIGITAL AND REGULAR)  AND BASIC SEWERS.  LAST YEAR MOST OF US MADE BAGS AND BECAUSE OF MY PROCRASTINATION I TOOK MY BAG BACK THIS YEAR TO FINISH IT BY SEWING THE FLOWER ON IT.  BECKY  AND KAREN ARE THE PROFESSIONAL SEWER/QUILTERS AND CAN MAKE THE CUTEST QUILTS FASTER THAN ANYONE I KNOW.  BECKY HAS A CUTE WEB SITE http://www.patchworkposse.com/   AND AS I WAS PERUSING IT I FOUND A REALLY CUTE FAST PILLOW PATTERN THAT I THINK I AM GOING TO TRY.  I HAVENT GOT THE QUILT BUG YET PROBABLY BECAUSE MY SEWING MACHINE IS 30+ YEARS OLD AND HAS A FEW ISSUES.  I GOT IT WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL, THAT TELLS YOU HOW OLD I AM, BUT I CAN DO THE VERY BASICS WHEN I NEED TO.   IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PILLOW LOOK FOR IT  HERE
